About the Role
The Logistics Engineering Specialist/Lead serves as the technical focal point for all Logistics, Supportability, and Maintainability issues related to their assigned vehicle platform. The Lead represents the Logistics Engineering organization as the prime technical contact on assigned contracts and projects, and interfaces with external functional groups on significant technical matters that often require coordination between organizations. The lead is responsible for all logistics technical input and design recommendations to ensure a balanced design and soldier centric focus. The lead manages source data development to ensure all contract deliverables are delivered on or ahead of schedule and on or below budget, responsible for the technical interface with the Government for all Logistics issues, and responsible for ensuring customer expectations are met with regard to Logistics products and services.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role
- Lead a group of Logistics Engineers to develop all contract deliverables on or below budget and on or ahead of schedule.
- Interface with design engineers, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads, and other functional organizations to ensure logistics, supportability, and maintainability issues are adequately identified and addressed.
- Lead performance of Logistics Front End Analysis (FEA) and Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), to include Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Supportability Analysis (SA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Analysis to identify resources required to maintain and support the design. Experience with COMPASS software a plus.
- Review drawings, Change Requests (CR), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), computer models and other technical documentation to identify maintenance and supply support requirements for the design.
- Support the development, maintenance, and update of requirements database in accordance with GEIA-STD-0007 and MIL-STD-1388-2B. Experience with SlicWave software a plus.
- Translate engineering and other technical information into source data in support of ILS products development. Develop logistics Engineering source data to be used in the creation of Operator Technical Manuals.
- Assess emerging designs for requirements compliance and recommend design alternatives to enhance supportability and maintainability.
- Provide logistical input during the preparation of programmatic contractual documents (i.e. SOWs, CIDS, CDRLs, SEMPs, etc).
- Support the Section Manager in estimating (bids and proposals), project planning and prioritization, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and execution of Logistics Engineering Scope.
Qualifications Sought
- Bachelor Degree in engineering discipline, non engineering degrees will be considered with extensive military experience/education such as Master Gunner School.
- Army or Marine experience a plus.
- Extensive hands on experience in the operation and maintenance of ground combat vehicle.
- Operations and maintenance of ground combat vehicles (Abrams, Stryker, Bradley, LAV) during combat operations is a plus. Abrams, Bradley, or Stryker Master Gunner qualification is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of the current vehicle design.
- Experience with Logistics Support Analysis (LSA)/ Supportability Analysis (SA), Basic Issue Items (BII), Component of End Items (COEI) and Additional Authorization List (AAL) items.
- Thorough working knowledge of US Army logistics support structure, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills required.
- Motivation to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Personal computer skills, familiarity with CAD.
- Must be able to obtain/hold a Secret Security clearance. Currently holding a clearance preferred.
